I have extensive experience leading Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) groups that emphasize building skills to help you manage your emotions, learn immediate coping skills and, most importantly, apply them to your own life circumstances. These groups are 1.5 hours in length. They require a 6 month commitment and they meet once per week. I supply weekly worksheets and “homework” that enables group members to practice and apply the skills each week. Each group member receives a binder that encompasses all of the skills presented throughout the entirety of the group. The group also allows for support between group members who may be struggling with similar issues.
I also lead self-esteem building groups that are geared to helping those with self-esteem issues that affect their personal and professional lives and impact important relationships. This group is 1.5 hours and it requires a 6-month commitment. It includes concrete skill building in a support group format.
